Minutes of MEETING of the Finance and General Purposes Committee held on
Monday 19th
December 2011

Bird re GP.2 – Chairman of the Committee
FINANCIAL AND
POLICY MATTERS.
FPM.1 Cllr Haywood proposed to
approve the budget update. Seconded by Cllr Lloyd.
All
in favour. The Whites Field Community Hall bills to be looked at before the
next F&GP
FPM.2 Cllr Pickard proposed to
approve the bank reconciliation. Seconded by Cllr Bird.
All
in favour.
FPM.3 Cllr Lloyd proposed to
approve payments on Petty Cash. Seconded by Cllr Williams.
All
in favour. There were nil payments through Imprest in this month.
FPM.4 Grants for Parallel bar
equipment in Conigre play area – to be discussed at the next F&GP.
FPM.5 Cllr Bird proposed to
budget £2000.00 towards the proposed new Fitness equipment from the capital
purchase budget. Seconded by Cllr Young. All in favour. Cllr Pickard and Cllr
Mantle to work towards a mission statement for the grant application.
GENERAL PURPOSES
GP.1 Cllr Haywood proposed the Council will fund £6500.00 for the
marquee, toilets, security and generator in August 2012. Seconded by Cllr Scarborough.
All in favour.
It
was suggested that Sainsbury’s and Waitrose are approached regarding event
sponsorship.
GP.2 Newsletter in the January
pump was discussed: one side will be the request to use the August Bank Holiday
marquee.... Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday afternoon.
Monday
is the Flower Show and it was agreed the Beer Festival will be held on the
Saturday.
Possible
other article ideas: Bus routes update with new route detailed, Jubilee event
ideas, Proposed fitness equipment. Proposed by Cllr Haywood, seconded by Cllr
Lloyd. All in favour.
GP.3 Farewell and thanks for
D/Cllr Geoff Andrews were discussed. 18th January was a proposed
date to hold a farewell function.

The
following accounts were proposed for payment by Cllr Williams and seconded by
Cllr Lloyd. All in favour.

4. Reading Room – remaining
grant – 2011-2012 881.00
CLERKS REPORT
CR.1 The Clerk confirmed the Keens
Lane Road Closure has been received for the Carols around the Tree event. Dr
Chris Hood is running the event.
