On 26th November OCC announced that it proposes to cease funding to 20 out of 43 libraries during its 2011/2012 financial year.
CHINNOR LIBRARY IS one of these under the THREAT OF CLOSURE.
The Local Government Settlement has been announced, and OCC know how much money it will receive from central government. The county council sets its final budget in February 2011.
A Public meeting was held in Chinnor on 2nd February to discuss options with the OCC Leader and other members.
The notes from this meeting can be read below. Also attached to this page are questions which have been answered by OCC.
It has been decided to set-up a working group to look at ways that the current services the library provides can continue in Chinnor should OCC funding cease. David Wilmshurst – one of Chinnor's local County Councillors will be part of this group.
If you wish for more information or to join the group please contact Liz Folley on chinnorpc@btconnect.com or call Liz on 01844 353267.
