MUGA (Multi use games area)

The Parish Council and The Chinnor Youth football club have been working together to agree the details of a new facility for all of the community to use at Whites Field. A planning application should be submitted within the next month.

HEDGES & TREES

Now is a good time to trim back hedges and trees. Residents are reminded to keep public pathways and the highway near to your boundary clear from overgrowth.

YOUTH CLUB

There is a youth club at the Whites Field Community Hall on Monday and Thursday evenings, 7pm – 9pm. Suitable for all young people aged between 13 – 19 years old. It provides a place to chill, have a game of pool or just relax with a drink. New members are always welcome.

CONIGRE PLAY AREA

The council are most pleased to see the new nest swing and roundabout being well used. Maintenance to this area will take place on Thursday 6th November and the park will be closed to the public for the morning.

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY

9TH November. The Parade will leave Thame Road at 10.30am and progress along Lower Road to the War Memorial, High Street for a service of remembrance and presentation of the poppy wreaths.

PLANNING SYSTEM

Government-led overhaul of the planning permission system, where the rules that cover householder developments has been relaxed. This means that in certain circumstances, residents can carry out minor extensions and alteration to properties without the need to apply to the council for formal permission. The aims are to introduce a more user-friendly system, and to free up time for planning departments.

More information can be obtained by phoning a Planning Enquiry Officer on 01491 823272 or visit the SODC website www.southoxon.gov.uk/planning-service
