CHINNOR PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of MEETING of the Environment Committee held on Monday 12th November 2012
PRESENT: Nigel Ambridge, Helen Fowler, Pat Haywood, Sara Higgs, Fiona Mantle (Vice chair), Mark Scarborough (Chair), Robin Williams, Martin Wright
ABSENT: Cllr Bird
DECLARATION OF INTERESTS: None
PA.1.Play Area reports – inspections all up to date by Cllr Fowler and works required previously have been completed. Quotes to be obtained for high fencing to stop footballs being kicked into play area.
PI.1 Skate Park – notice of meeting to discuss alternative locations on 13th November at 10.30am.
Preferred location: Playing Fields – behind current machinery store.
It was agreed not to pursue Whites Field or Hill Road Recreation as a location for the skate park unless the member from OPFA recommends these areas as only options available.
PI.2 August Bank Holiday marquee for 2013 was discussed. It was agreed that the marquee events are very popular and it would be a real shame not to progress with the event but money is needed to be saved next year. A 10% charge / donation to be requested on the agreement.
The location to be the Playing Fields, Station Road.
It is was agreed as a requirement to see the Beer Festival accounts before it is discussed for the marquee to be used again by that group all day on the Saturday. It is not yet in agreement for the Beer Festival to be used on the Saturday – some Councillors felt this was not necessary to use the marquee all day on a Saturday – to be discussed again at a later date.
A newsletter and application form for marquee use to be sent into the pump in January.
Hire of trestle tables was discussed – this cost to be included in our budget.
PI.3 Request to use Hill Road Rec area for the start of the Ridgeway walk July 2013. All in favour in principle but more details are required.
PI.4 Ash dieback disease –any necessary action from the Parish of Chinnor to be reviewed once we get the report back from Complete Tree Services.
