Minutes of the Meeting of the ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE held on Monday 22nd July 2019

Public Question Time: 1 member of the public was present.

A question regarding the Bloor development on Mill Lane and new road layout which includes an island area which will be seeded. The Clerk advised that we are still waiting on final drawings for this area and will chase again to confirm changes they have made.

 

Climate Emergency Working Group

5.1 First meeting arranged for 29th July 2019 – 7.30pm in the Council Chamber – Cllr Oliver will lead the meeting.

 

Chinnor – General issues for discussion

6.1 Speed watch device – recent deployment in 3 areas – Thame Road, Mill Lane and Estover Way. Next session 4.30pm on 23rd July with PCSO Davey – Thame Road.

6.2 Thames Water – recent issue on the Driftway / Cleavers which was from a blockage in The Carriages. Next meeting with Thames Water scheduled for December 2019.

6.3 Cllr Ashdown reported on Red Kite meeting and radio interview – CPC have sent info to all local councils for distribution on social media and newsletters.

6.4 Traffic Calming – Cllr Williams gave a full report following meeting with OCC officer Lee Turner – in minute's file.

6.5 Oxfordshire Cycle Survey 2019 – request for everyone to complete.

6.6 Quote for Conigre play area repairs was agreed to be discussed following the RoSPA inspection, which is due this month for annual checks.

 

Old Kiln Lakes

7.1 Skate Ramp –recent meeting and site visit with Canvas Spaces – notes from meeting in the minute's file.

 

Chinnor Youth Council

Update was given from Cllr Standage regarding the Youth engagement event in August marquee – next meeting scheduled for 6th August to finalise everything.

 

Allotment

9.1 Replacement fencing now completed and invoice ready for payment.

10.1 TEN – applied for by Jo Wills

10.2 Security – still waiting confirmation from last year's security man

10.3 Events – still spaces for Friday morning and Sunday afternoon

10.4 Tickets for events – posters etc to be sent to CPC to help advertising and selling

 

Other Matters

11.1 Cllr Williams reported on meeting attended regarding the closed Bledlow Refuse site. A press release has been agreed for this week and Just Giving fund page to be set up towards funding for the project. Details to follow soon once more information has been received.
