MINUTES of the ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE MEETING held on 29th January 2018

Public Question time: 2 residents of Henton attended the meeting.
Henton
5.1 The Clerk reported on recent communications regarding the village green.
Due to weather conditions the green is very wet and muddy – gullies have been dug to try to drain the water. The Clerk has spoken with the owner of The Peacock and a meeting with Councillor's will be arranged soon to discuss remedial repair measures including new kerbing and to agree repair processes.
Cllr Haywood proposed that all facts and details to be obtained and then discussed again at the next meeting – seconded by Cllr Higgs.
Chinnor Open Spaces:
6.1 Greening Chinnor are planning to plant the new trees early February - date to be arranged. Cllr Bird to be requested to meet with Lee and mark exact locations for the planting on the Playing Fields of three of the trees.
6.2 The Clerk reported that all of the cricket items from Playing Fields have now been removed.
6.3 Alan Brawn has contacted the Footpath Officer with a list of issues in the area. Noted.
6.4 The Council have requested full plans and drawings to be shown and discussed at a Planning Committee meeting regarding installation of training lights on existing light columns in Playing Fields.
Whites Field Community Hall and Car Park area
7.1 It was reported by our PCSO that the locking of the Car Park over the Christmas period was very successful and noted that this helped in the control of anti social behaviour. It was agreed that we should do all we can to get the gate locked on a regular basis. The Clerk to contact Mill Lane School to request their assistance with this matter.
Events
8.1 Chinnor Award Nights – The CANs
Launch on 26th March 2018 alongside Annual Assembly – 7.30pm in the Pavilion.
Nomination forms to be designed and given out at Annual Assembly event on 26th March
Deadline for nomination forms to be returned – 22nd June 2018
All nominations to then be discussed by a separate committee and winners agreed.
Awards night to be held in the marquee – suggested date – 22nd August
It was agreed that awards would be in the following categories:
The Arts – art, music, drama
Community Award
Sporting Award
Volunteer of the Year
Lifetime Achievement Award
